Put some bling in your birthday party!
It can be tough to keep kids' parties fresh. Sure, there's nothing
wrong with the tried and true, but you can easily mix it up and
throw a party to remember. Introduce a crafty challenge at your
next party, and watch the kids - who are naturally creative and
curious - blossom!
They'll love the chance to make something on their own, and they
will look forward to the event knowing they'll be doing something
fun.
Successfully incorporate a crafty task into your party:
-
choose an age appropriate activity
-
be prepared and have all the materials
you'll need ready ahead of time
-
keep everyone in the same work area
and hand out smocks for the budding artists if it's messy
-
provide guidance so everyone understands
what they're doing... they'll enjoy themselves much more
-
give 'em space! and keep an eye out
for anyone needing assistance
-
you can't rush Picasso - allot enough
time for your activity. have other games planned and ready in
case everyone finishes in a hurry
-
since part of creating is tidying up
afterwards, give the artists tips on how to stay organized as
they go... and perhaps get a helping hand for clean up afterwards
-
bring in a professional. They'll specializes
in the activity, have abundant supplies, and handle everything
seamlessly start to finish - leaving you some time to chill and
enjoy the party too!
